About us

At Sivin Communications, we believe that communication is more than just delivering a message—it’s about engaging people, amplifying voices, and driving meaningful change. Our work is rooted in participatory and inclusive storytelling, ensuring that communities, organizations, and initiatives don’t just communicate but truly connect.

About

Our Story

Founded by Manon Koningstein, Sivin Communications was born in 2016 from a passion for transforming research, insights, and grassroots experiences into compelling narratives. With a background in Communications for Development, we specialize in helping organizations create engaging, accessible, and impactful communication strategies—whether through visual storytelling, participatory tools, or digital engagement.

What sets us apart?

We don’t believe in one-way communication. Instead, we champion participatory approaches that put communities and stakeholders at the center of the story. Whether through Participatory Video & Photography, animated explainers, infographics, or communication strategies, we ensure that voices from the ground are not just heard but also shape the conversation.

Who we work with

We collaborate with NGOs, international development agencies, research institutions, and grassroots movements that want to make their communication more engaging, inclusive, and action-oriented. Some of our partners include CGIAR, UNICEF, Rainforest Alliance, the Climate Action Network, Rainforest Alliance and Crop Trust.

Mission Statement

At Sivin Communications, we empower communities, organizations, and initiatives by transforming research and ideas into compelling, inclusive, and participatory communication. Through storytelling, visual media, and strategic communication, we create engaging narratives that amplify voices, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change.

Vision Statement

We envision a world where communication is truly inclusive—where diverse perspectives shape narratives, communities lead their own stories, and development efforts resonate deeply with those they seek to support. By blending creativity with participatory methods, we aim to bridge gaps, inspire action, and make communication a catalyst for sustainable impact.

Value proposition

At Sivin Communications, we bridge the gap between research, development, and real-world impact through inclusive and participatory communication. Our tailored storytelling, audiovisual tools, and strategic design ensure that organizations and communities don’t just share messages—they create connections, inspire action, and drive change. With a deep commitment to co-creation and accessibility, we craft narratives that resonate, visuals that engage, and strategies that amplify voices that matter.

Testimonials

We've had the pleasure of working with Manon for nearly four years on Lights, Camera, Action: Participatory Video to Empower Rural Women and Youth. Her leadership, creativity, and dedication were instrumental in transforming this project from an idea into one of our program’s Legacy Products. From designing the methodology to facilitating workshops and applying results, her contributions have been invaluable. A fantastic collaborator, Manon’s energy and deep expertise in intercultural communication, particularly in Latin America, ensured meaningful impact. Participatory communication thrives under skilled guidance, and her expertise makes her an asset to any team aiming to enhance development impact through these tools.

I have worked with Manon since August 2015 and have found her work to be of top caliber. She is a creative, skilled and innovative professional who takes great pride in her work and who not only excels technically, but who also has a very personal touch that serves her well — whether it’s taking photos or videos with communities, discussing issues with people of various backgrounds, or organizing and carrying through creative projects. I have seen Manon communicate effectively and passionately with community members of all ages and backgrounds, academics at high level panels, and colleagues from various disciplines; she is a natural communicator. Importantly, she delivers high quality products in a timely fashion. I know Manon will give 100 % to any effort she sets her mind to and I therefore have the greatest pleasure in recommending her.
