Animated Videos
Whiteboard animations are an excellent way to simplify complex issues or summarize lengthy reports in an engaging, easy-to-understand format for a broad audience.
At Sivin, we’ve worked with organizations like Crop Trust, UNICEF, Samuel Hall, Includovate, ILRI, CIFOR, CIAT, University of Salzburg, University of Maastricht, and the CCAFS program to create short, visually captivating whiteboard animations that effectively communicate key messages and ideas.
Hybrid videos: Seeds for Resilience, Ethiopia, Zambia, Ghana and Nigeria (Crop Trust)
Together with Crop Trust, we developed a series of hybrid videos in collaboration with the national genebanks of four countries. We started with a workshop on participatory video and scriptwriting, where participants learned the basics of video production.
From there, we supported the genebanks in crafting their own scripts and storyboards, deciding which elements would be captured as real footage and which would be brought to life through animation. For the real footage, we guided, analyzed, and evaluated the materials they provided. The animated segments were entirely created by us, including the development of unique lead characters for each country.
The voiceovers were recorded by the genebanks, with our support and brief training. Finally, we handled the overall editing, ensuring a cohesive and engaging final product.
In partnership with Samuel Hall Consultancies, we developed the script, narrative, and animated video for UNICEF Pakistan’s Early Childhood Education program. We also coordinated the collaboration with an external voice actor to bring the project to life.

UNICEF Thailand and East Asia
We created a series of 11 videos for the Monitoring and Evaluation framework of UNICEF EAPRO, which were then translated into English, Vietnamese, Thai, Lao, Mongolian, Bahasa Indonesia, Tetum (Timor-Leste), Mandarin, Malay (Malaysia), Burmese (Myanmar), and Khmer (Cambodia). Our responsibilities included script and storyboard writing, creating the animated video series, collaborating with external voice actors, adding subtitles, and overseeing the translation into other languages with the help of externally contracted specialists.
The videos were designed to emphasize that evaluation is a crucial tool for UNICEF, helping measure the impact of our work for children. Evaluation strengthens programs through accountability and learning, and this process of continuous improvement is vital. To support this, UNICEF EAPRO developed the evaluation learning series, featuring short videos covering evaluation basics, evaluation management, and national evaluation capacity development
We were tasked with creating a short campaign video for #IncludovateRaisesTheBar, a campaign designed to support three research papers by four researchers, helping them share their findings with a broader audience. We handled the scriptwriting, animated video creation, and editing for the project.
