Inclusive storytelling is a transformative tool for amplifying voices often overlooked in research and development. At Sivin, we provide specialized training sessions that teach how to craft narratives that reflect the diverse perspectives of all stakeholders involved, especially marginalized groups.
Our training focuses on using participatory methods to capture and communicate local knowledge, ensuring that stories represent the true needs, challenges, and aspirations of the communities impacted by development projects. By fostering an inclusive approach, we empower teams to create engaging stories that resonate with a wide audience and drive social change.
We’ve worked with organizations like DeSIRA LIFT, Includovate, and the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Agronomiques, Université d’Antananarivo in Madagascar.
and CIAT to provide training on inclusive storytelling. Through these partnerships, we’ve helped teams enhance their ability to connect with stakeholders and make their research more accessible, relevant, and impactful.
In the first half of 2023, I facilitated a weekly online course consisting of nine modules on Participatory Video for M&E in Agricultural Innovation. Each session was recorded to accommodate participants who couldn’t attend live. At the end of the course, a PDF handout was created and shared with the wider community.
